Football may have started this past weekend, but several more programs will be starting soon with the Westside Recreation and Park District’s youth and Instructional flag football along with tiny tot punt, pass, kick and catch.
The youth and instructional flag football program will be the first one to start on October 14 and will last until December 14.
Flag football games will take place on Saturdays with practices taking place on weekdays. It is open to kids between the ages of 6-8 (for instructional) and 7-11 for advanced.
The cost to take part is $35 per player with the games taking place at A Street Park.
The youth and instructional flag football league is for boys and girls who want to learn the basic fundamentals of football.
The deadline is Thursday, October 3.
Meanwhile the Tiny Tot punt pass, kick and catch program is open to boys and girls between the ages of 3-5 years old. The program teaches the basics of the game, teamwork and fun.
The program will take place Saturday mornings at 9, 10 or 11 a.m. at A Street Park. The program will run from October 19- November 16.
To take part the cost is $25 per person. The registration deadline is Thursday, October 3.
