Lady Wildcats defeat East Bakersfield, Ridgeview, Wasco and West while losing to Highland
It might be early in the season, but the Taft varsity volleyball team got off to a flying start to their season last Friday and Saturday when they won four out of five games in the South Tournament in Bakersfield.
Taft opened their tournament schedule Friday with a 25-17, 25-12 victory over East Bakersfield. Halle Neher and Johanna Wilke each had 4 digs each.
The Lady Wildcats extended their run into their second match with a 25-16, 25-22 win over Ridgeview. Emberson led in kills with 6 while Wilke had 5.
Taft wrapped up their pool play action with a 25-23, 25-15 win over Wasco. Wilke led in kills with 11 while Cassidy Cloud had 6.
By winning all three games, the Lady Wildcats took first place in pool play.
The Lady Wildcats continued their streak Saturday morning with a 25-12, 25-19 victory over West before losing 25-17, 25-17 to close out their tournament run.
