  • The trial for the man accused in the torture and murder of Trinity Hanna has been delayed until next year.
Eric Edward Foster, 28, is now scheduled to go on trial on January 21.
A motion for a change in trial date was granted in Kern County Superior Court last week.
No reason for the delay was given.
Foster had been scheduled to go on trial on Sept. 19.
He is charged with willful cruelty to a child, torture, assault with great bodily injury, first degree murder and lewd and lascivious acts with a child under age 14 by force.
Foster has been held without bail since his arrest on Jan. 27, 2012, just hours after Trinity's mother, Angela Monique Hanna, brought the 3-year-old girl to a Bakersfield hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Angela Hanna was arrested several months after the girls death and was sentenced earlier this year to spend 10 years in prison at the Valley State Prison for Women for her no contest plea to four counts of willful cruelty to a child.
She also agreed to testify against Foster, who was her boyfriend at the time of Trinity's murder, as the part of the plea agreement.
