Frank Richard Wilson was born on June 25, 1925 in Fellows, California. He passed away on September 2, 2013 at the age of 88. Frank attended Taft schools and graduated from Taft Union High School in 1943 before continuing his education at the University of Montana in Missoula while in the US Army Air Corps. He completed aviation cadet training in Lubbock, Texas before marrying his high school sweetheart, Evelyn (Nance) Wilson in 1947. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this past June. Frank and Evelyn have two daughters, Leslie Edwards of Huntington Beach, CA and Deni Porter of Sunriver, OR; and one grandchild, Todd Edwards of Irvine, CA. Frank was a Taft business entrepreneur prior to his retirement at the age of 50. He was owner/operator of both Wilson's Transfer and Storage and the Caprice Motel. He was active in the business community and served on the board of the Taft Chamber. Our Dad was known to many for his long daily walks with Evelyn covering every street of Taft. One of his last outings was a walk on the newly extended "Rails to Trails" near his home. Frank and Evelyn spent many happy hours together at jazz events, traveling with friends, boating, golfing and entertaining at their home. Frank loved music and loved to dance. At Frank's request there will be no service. Private interment will take place in the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin.
