Two Corcoran turnovers turned into two quick touchdowns for Taft Union High School Friday night in a 25-13 Wildcat win.
The Panthers fumbled on the second play from scrimmage and the Wildcats recovered. Two plays after that fumble, Eddie Romo ran in for the touchdown.
Taft's defense struck again on Corcoran's second drive when Seth Faagau recovered another fumble at the Corcoran 13 and ran it in for a touchdown. Taft added two-point conversions after both scores and led 16-0 less than two minutes into the game
Just twenty seconds after the Wildcats scored a touchdown, Corcoran answered with a touchdown after a long return and an extra point to close the score to 16-7.
Neither team scored again until the third quarter when Josh Tiger ran for a 28-yard touchdown with 1:02 to go. After Corcoran scored early in the fourth quarter, Taft put the game away late in the quarter on a 36-yard field goal.
