Tours of new facility on Maricopa High campus and barbecue will follow
The Maricopa Unified School District is planning a big celebration on Saturday to mark the opening of its new swimming pool and gymnasium.
The event starts at 1 p.m. with a ribbon cutting, followed by tours of the gym and pool, free swimming and use of the gym.
A barbecue will be served from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. by the Maricopa PTO with a choice of hot dog or hamburger dinner for just $4.
The district broke ground on the 15,325 square foot complex in May 2012, several years after the voters in the MUSD passed a school bond.
