The event was the Buena Vista Women's Golf Club's Founders Day Golf Tournament
The Buena Vista Women’s Golf Club recently held its annual Founders Day Golf Tournament. The tournament was followed by a luncheon attended by club members past and present.
The Women’s Club was founded in 1952 by Bea Pruitt, Jane Kirkpatrick, Mable Mitchell, Colleen Garratt, Bernie Havener, Gretchen Kirkpatrick, Syble Garrison, Ruth Lawrence, Lucy Merrill, Gladys Schwass, and Dorothy Goode.
The tournament winner is determined by the lowest net score.
The player with the lowest net score this year was Debbie Fellick. Her name will go on a perpetual plaque.
Second lowest net was Carolyn Hosking followed by Linda Zumbro, Evelyn Wilson, and Norma Scuri.
Also recognized was the “Putter of the Month” for September. There was a tie for this between Maryellen Welch and Carolyn McLeod.
The B.V. Women’s Golf Club plays every Wednesday at the Buena Vista Golf Course. All women golfers are invited to join in playing with the group. For further information contact the golf course at 763-5124.
