The Taft College Volleyball Team participated in Breast Cancer Awareness through a fundraiser at a game. The Cougars held their fundraiser on Oct 9 at in the Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center. The Cougars swept Merced 25-12, 25-21, and 25-15.
The team helped raise money for the cause by selling breast cancer awareness T shirts, as well as their admission into the game was donated towards breast cancer research.
For the last 15 years, Taft College has been participating in fundraising for breast cancer research. Each year the donations are given to the nationally known Susan G. Komen Foundation, as well as Critical Care for Taft’s local Soroptimist Club.
The team’s goal each year is to raise at least $1,500. Last year, in 2012, the volleyball team raised $1,800.
