Now that the regular season is over there is only one thing left for the Taft varsity girls tennis team-playoffs. The No.3 seeded Lady Wildcats will kick off their run next Wednesday when they host No.6 seed Independence in the quarterfinal round of the CIF-CS Division IV playoffs.
If Taft wins the match, they could get a rematch of last year’s championship match against No. 2 Liberty Madera Ranchos in the semi final round. Before that possibility happens, Liberty-Madera Ranchos will face the winner of the No.7 Mira Monte-No.10 Delano matchup.
Taft is not the only member from the South Sequoia League to compete in the playoffs.
On the other side of the bracket, No.4 Wasco will face No.5 Strathmore next Wednesday in the quarterfinal round. The winner will face, either, No.1 Selma, No.9 Kerman or No.8 Dinuba.
In the Division III bracket, No.1 Bakersfield Christian will not have an opponent until the semi final round.
