Deputies make arrests near Derby Acres
Kern County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man and woman after a pursuit in the oilfields near Derby Acres Wednesday morning.
Both people were charged with petty theft, conspiracy and a vehicle code violation for the pursuit.
The suspect were identified as Charles Scholz, 34, and Teha Britt, 29 by the Kern County Sheriff's Office. Bother were being held in the Kern County Jail late Thursday.
Deputies were apparently responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle or theft in progress. The incident took place northeast of the intersection of Highway 33 and Shale Road.
In addition to the theft and conspiracy charge, Scholz is charged with felony evading a peace officer in a vehicle and Britt is charged with failure to obey a peace officer.
