The Taft junior varsity football team needed to win get at least a share of the league title. They got it by defeating the Robert F. Kennedy Thunderbirds 44-0 in Taft.
As a result of their victory and another team's loss in league play, the Wildcats won the South Sequoia League outright.
Most of the Taft scoring took place in the first half with the Wildcats erupting for 23 points in the first quarter alone on a 10-yard pass, a five yard run and a six yard run.
Taft added to their lead in the second quarter thanks to a 16-yard pass play with 1:25 to go.
The Wildcats final score of the game was in the third quarter with a 13-yard run for a touchdown.
