If there was any type of indication on what type of mood the Taft varsity football team was in one just needed to look at the scoreboard Friday night in Taft after the Wildcats handed the Robert F. Kennedy Thunderbirds a 52-0 loss.
It didn't take long for the Wildcats to score as they erupted for three touchdowns in first quarter alone. The first came on the offensive side of the ball with a four yard run. Meanwhile the second came on a blocked punt with Taft recovering the ball in the endzone for the score while the third touchdown of the quarter was on a 51-yard run.
Taft struck again seven seconds into the second quarter with a 14-yard pass. The Wildcats followed up with a 15-yard touchdown run before Taft found the endzone with 51 seconds to go in the half to lead 44-0.
Scoring quieted down for the Wildcats in the third quarter but it briefly picked back up again in the fourth quarter thanks to a six yard run.
