Complaint sought against driver of truck that collided with motorcycle

Taft Police police have complete a second investigation into the Labor Day fatal truck-motorcycle collision and resubmitted a report to the Kern County District Attorney.

The police are seeking a misdemeanor manslaughter complaint against the man driving a truck that collided with a motorcycle on Sept. 2.
The district attorney sent the report back and asked for further investigation.

Th second report has been completed and sent to the District Attorney, Lt. Pete Aranda said.
No decision on whether or not charges will be filed has been made, Aranda said Tuesday.

Lt. Pete Aranda said the report has been sent back to the district attorney but no decision has been made on filing charges against the truck driver, 36-year-old Chad Harrelson of Bakersfield.

Harrelson was driving a truck on Highway 33 that collided with a motorcycle driven by Robert Mansell of Taft.

Mansell was killed and his 12-year-old son Nick suffered major injuries.
