Defendant guilty of first-degree murder in 2011 death of James Fanshier
The sentencing for Dustin Wedel, the man convicted of murdering a 3-year-old Taft boy in 2011, was postponed for a day.
Wedel, 2, was scheduled to be sentenced Thursday morning.
No reason for the delay was given.
Wede;l is now scheduled to be sentenced on Friday at 8:30 a.m. in Kern County Superior Court in Bakersfield.
He was convicted on Nov., 4 of first degree murder, child abuse and assault in connection with the beating death of James Fanshier.
The boy died on Jan. 23, 2011 in a small home on Van Buren Street.
