He was convicted of killing three-year-old James Fanshier

Dustin Wedel was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison for the murder of 3-year-old James Fanshier in Ford City nearly 3 years ago.

Wedel received an additional six years on top of the 25-to-life term for cruelty to a child.

Wedel, 27 , was convicted on Nov. 4 of the Jan. 23, 2011 death of Fanshier.

Wedel was arrested five months after Fanshier's death.

His girlfriend, Stormy Roberts, who was taking care of the boy, called for medical aid at 200-1/2 Van Buren because the boy wasn't breathing.

Wedel's arrest came after an autopsy and other studies showed the boy died from "multiple blunt force trauma," and Wedel was found guilty of inflicting the injuries.
