BAKERSFIELD — Last Saturday, FFA students from Taft Union High School's agriculture program competed in the South Valley FFA Section speaking contest at Frontier High School. Josh Hawkins, Justin Studer, and Jason Fuller competed in the job interview contest against 20 other FFA students from around Kern County. Job interview contestants are judged on their cover letter and resume as well as their interview.
Josh Hawkins took 4th high individual and will be moving on to compete at the San Joaquin Regional job interview contest in March.
Freshmen Brittney Fuller and Shelby Watts competed in the FFA creed speaking contest, where they memorized and recited the five-paragraph FFA creed. Students were judged on their memorization and presentation of the creed, as well as their answers to questions related to the creed.
