Lady Wildcats win two out of three matches in tournament
Despite a hiccup in their first match of the tournament, the Taft varsity girls soccer team bounced back to go 2-1 in the Silver B girls division of the Garces Holiday Soccer Tournament this past weekend at the State Farm Sports Village in Bakersfield.
Taft got off to a rough start Friday afternoon with an 8-1 loss to Porterville. Bethany Fitzsimmons scored the lone goal of the match for the Lady Wildcats in the first half.
The Lady Wildcats recovered the next day to shut out Antelope Valley. Taft capped their run in the afternoon with a 7-1 victory over McFarland. In the afternoon match, the Lady Wildcats erupted for four goals in the first half before tacking on another three in the second.
