Wildcats win all three matches over two day stretch

The Taft boys soccer team completed the non-league portion of their schedule with a bang this past weekend when they won first place in the Silver B Division of the Garces Tournament at State Farm Sports Village in Bakersfield.

Taft got off to a roaring start Friday afternoon with a 3-0 shutout over Woodlake. Joseph Arellano led the charge by scoring two of the goals.

The Wildcats carried their momentum into the Saturday morning match where they defeated Exeter 3-1.

Taft had a tougher time in the championship match where Chuy Gutierrez scored the lone goal of the match near the midway point of the first half as the Wildcats defeated Tranquility 1-0.
