RCIU investigates several crimes
The Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes Investigations Unit is investing several crimes in western Kern County, including to attempts to steal copper wire in the Lost Hills area.

Unknown suspects attempted to steal copper from a pumping unit located in the area of Lost Hills Road and Resource Street. Please contact Detective Eliseo Tafoya @ (661) 392-4372 or e-mail TafoyaE@kernsheriff.com if you have any information regarding this case. Refer to case #SR13-33145.
Earlier in December, someone caused approximately $28,000 damage when they attempted to steal Okonite copper wire cables from three oil pumps located on oilfield property off of Resource Street. A single axle trailer with two port-a-potties bolted to it were stolen from the area of Copus Road and Old River Road. The port-a-potties have “161” painted on them. Approximately $60,000.00 worth of oil field PVC pipes, pipe fittings, valves, pipe threaders, and drill bits were stolen from a business located near Bear Mountain Boulevard and Coles Levee Road. Contact Greer you have any information regarding this case. Refer to case #SR13-33286.
