Rec opens Natatorium Saturday for a cold winter swim

OK, so it's not as cold as it usually is this time of the year. But its still plenty chilly in the morning, especially in a swimsuit

You can still show just how tough you are on Saturday when the West Side Recreation and Park District holds the Freeze the Day winter plunge at the Natatorium.

It last for two hours starting at 9:30 a.m.

Right now its looking like the air temperatures would be in the 40s to low 50s when the pool opens.

There's no word on just how cold the pool will be

So take a plunge into the cold water on a cold day to prove you can do it, then warm up with a hot drink.

The Rec will have games in the water and on land along with hot chocolate and coffee.

All ages are welcome to come down and take the plunge into the winter water with the event taking place from 9:30-11 a.m. All kids must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $2 per person.

For more information, contact the Rec at 763-4246.
