Multiple subjects broke into house early Friday. Victim treated for non-life threatening injuries
A Taft man was attacked in his home and stabbed early Friday morning.
Taft Police Lt. Pete Aranda said the victim, Ioelu Burt Laulusa, 33, was found bleeding from stab wounds to his legs and hands and a laceration to his forehead when police were called to 201 Warren Street just after 2 a.m.
Aranda said Laulusa was taken by ambulance to Mercy Southwest Hospital in Bakersfield for treatment of non-life threatening wounds.
Aranda said the victim was apparently inside his home when he was attacked by a group of men.
"From what we understand, multiple subjects forced their way into the residence and a struggle ensued," Aranda said. "The victim sustained injuries from an unknown type knife or cutting instrument."
Laulusa was not cooperative with officers, Aranda said. Two subjects were detained in connection with the attack but later released.
The investigation is ongoing and officers are still trying to locate witnesses of anyone with information about the crime.
