An arrest has been made in connection with the Saturday night motorcycle crash that killed a Bakersfield man.
A Taft man is in jail, facing murder, felony drunk driving and driving on a suspended license charges.
The Kern County Sheriff's Jail website shows that Ronald Carey Marshall Jr., 30, was booked late Sunday morning and charged with murder, two counts of DUI causing injury and driving on a license suspended or revoked for a DUI conviction.
He is being held without bail.
The California Highway Patrol said Sunday afternoon that Marshall was driving a Suzuki GSXR 750 westbound on Highwy119 just north of Midway Road when the motorcycle veered to the right and struck the metal guard rail.
Marshall's passenger, Christopher Charles Dross, 29, of Bakersfield, was ejected and died at the scene.
Both men were wearing safety equipment, the CHP said.
Marshall was treated for minor injuries and arrested after it was determined he was under the influence of alcohol, the CHP said.
