His sentence will include jail time, restitution
A Taft man will be sentenced on Feb. 19 after he was convicted of an oilfield theft.
Phillip Wilson pled no contest to petty theft with a prior conviction, a felony.
The case involved the theft of oil field equipment, the Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes Investigations Unit reported. Deputies recovered parts of the oil rig and conducted an investigation into the defendant which led to his arrest in late September. The defendant will be sentenced to local jail time, felony probation, restitution, and is required to stay away from recycling centers and the victim, the RCIU said.
