Annette Marie DuJardin, a former Yreka resident and most recently of Medford, Ore., peacefully departed her earthly life early Sunday morning, Feb. 2, 2014, after declining health over the past several years.
She was the daughter of the late Oliver and Anna Boucher of Fitchburg, Mass. She met and married her husband, Joseph E. DuJardin, in 1960 and spent the next 20 years of her life traveling to various parts of the world as a loving army wife, adventuresome enough to go on an African safari and adapt to foreign cultures she was exposed to. After retirement, they relocated to Yreka and purchased their first permanent home. Annette was a fun-loving person, a devoted wife, and she especially enjoyed being with people and riding roller coasters. Annette had a giving heart, and was a much-loved sister and daughter to the entire DuJardin family. She greatly surprised everyone when she became an avid quilter later in life, a hobby she truly enjoyed, and lovingly blessed her family and friends with her creations.
Annette was preceded in death, just 2 1/2 weeks prior, by her beloved husband of 54 years Joseph, her parents Oliver and Anna Boucher, her sisters Evelyn and Loretta and her husband’s parents.
She is survived by her nieces Cindy Ebenal and Maureen Campbell and their spouses and children; also Janet and Larry Hartzell; Jim and Linda DuJardin; Jane DuJardin; Jay and Gail DuJardin; along with numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends. Annette will be missed by all who knew and loved her and are comforted by knowing she has joined her beloved Joe.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 5, 2014, at Anna Maria Creekside, 822 Golf View Drive, Medford, Ore. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Yreka. Burial will follow, next to Joe, in Evergreen Cemetery in Yreka. Girdner Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.girdnerfuneralchapel.com.
