  • Taft girls seeded 6th in CIF soccer playoffs

  • After finishing second in league play and recording 19 wins this season, the Taft varsity girls soccer team found out their playoff course Saturday when they were given the No.6 seed in the CIF Central Section Division IV playoffs.
    Taft will host No.11 Mira Monte Wednesday.
    If the Lady Wildcats win they will take on No. 3 Mission Oak-No.14 Roosevelt Friday.
    The Lady Wildcats enter the playoffs with an overall record of 19-6-1 and a league record of 9-3.
    Taft is one of four South Sequoia League team in the playoffs.
    No.13 Cesar Chavez will travel No.4 Strathmore while SSL champion Bakersfield Christian received a bye and will face the winner of No.9 McLane-No.8 Exeter on Friday.
    In Division V, No.3 Shafter got a bye and will face the winner of No.11 Corcoran-No.6 Kern Valley.
    Taft's match Wednesday will begin at 6:30 p.m.
