A man suffering from a stab wound was found in front of the Kern County fire station in Maricopa Monday afternoon.
Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of a victim of a stabbing in a car on Tejon Street.
The victim was later located on a bench in front of the fire station, which was empty at the time.
He was conscious and breathing but suffering from a wound to the upper abdomen or chest.
The victim was rushed from the scene to Taft Airport where he was transferred to a helicopter to be airlifted to Kern Medical Center.
It is not known if the victim was stabbed at that location he was found at or somewhere else.
