Born Learning Trail will be dedicated Wednesday
The Taft District Chamber of Commerce will hold a special grand opening ribbon cutting at the Born Learning Trail along the Rails to Trails on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
The Born Learning Trail provides a fun way for parents and caregivers to interact with children from newborn to age 5.
Sponsored by the United Way, the trail includes signs along the public bike path with games and exercises for children to participate in.
The trail is marked in English and Spanish and has 10 fun outdoor activity stations.
These stations engage children, stimulate learning, and encourage healthy life styles and family involvement.
This has been a collaborative effort between United Way, PG&E, the City of Taft, True Value, and Taft Kiwanis Club. Children from West Side Recreation preschool and United Methodist Church preschool will be a part of the special ceremony
Ribbon cutting will take place on the Rails to Trails at one of the learning stations on the bike path directly south of the Main-Eighth Street intersection. The activity station is located near the benches, water fountain, and light post.
The public is invited to attend.
