He's also fined, placed on probation

A Taft man convicted of stealing from the oilfields was sentenced to nine months in jail, ordered to pay $360 in fines and restitution and placed on formal probation for three years.

Phillip Wilson, 29, had entered a no contest plea to theft charges on Jan. 22 and was sentenced on Wednesday.

With credit for time served and good time, Wilson could be released by July 1, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Jail website.
