Wildcats shut out Frazier Mountain 15-0

The Taft varsity baseball team got their home schedule off to a flying start Wednesday afternoon by defeating the Frazier Mountain Eagles 15-0.

Taft got their offense going in the first inning when they scored three runs on a double and two singles.

The Wildcats opened the floodgates in the second inning by sending 12 batters to the plate while scoring six runs highlighted by Kyle Adkins run scoring triple.

Taft added four runs to their lead in the third led by Adkins two run double and Trenton Taylor's triple.

While Taft's offense was scoring runs, Frazier Mountain was unable to get a runner on base through the opening three innings of the game. The Falcons threatened to get on the scoreboard in the fourth thanks to a walk and triple but were unsuccessful.

The Wildcats capped their scoring outburst with two runs in the fourth.

Frazier Mountain had another chance to get their first runs of the game in the seventh thanks to a hit batter, an error and a fielder's choice but the Falcons could not break through.
