After spending 10 days on Life Support and in a coma, Bill succumbed to massive heart failure. The family followed Bill’s wishes and he became an organ donor.
The family moved to Taft in 1968 as Bill’s dad was the superintendent for the building of the California Aqueduct. Billy grew up in Taft and attended Taft Union High School where he was involved in numerous sports and was given the name “The Animal“ on the football field. After graduating in 1977 Bill began work for Western Contracting with his dad and older brother and ended his career with Sukut where he worked for 12 years as their Master Welder/Fabricator and Mechanic.
Bill married Patricia Maria Golleher in 1987 in Taft, CA. They were happily married for 27 years and lived in Oceanside, California.
Bill was very involved with his children, his siblings, nieces and nephews. Bill was much more than an uncle. Bill was truly a great friend. Someone you could pour your thoughts out to knowing he’d cherish them to the end, always giving the best advice. Bill could make you laugh when you wanted to cry, make you feel strong when you felt so weak, always a shoulder to cry on. Billy never met a stranger. No matter how tired Bill was from work at the end of the day, he would always take you anywhere you wanted to go.
Bill enjoyed being in Bowling Leagues, Coaching children’s bowling, playing sports, playing with his drums and guitar. Bill really enjoyed spending time with his family, nieces and nephews and friends camping at Dumont and Glamis - driving his sand-rail filled with family, and spending time setting around the campfire.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother Laura Jean, who passed February 10, 2004.
