Man was wanted in connection with attack in Ford City in October

Taft Police arrested a man wanted on a warrant for a forcible rape charge Thursday morning.

Lt. Pete Aranda said officers received a report that Kenneth Burns was seen walking on the 800 block of Center Street about 10 a.m.

Officers responded to the area, and, after a short search and investigation, found the suspect at the Fastrip, 903 Kern Street at 10:10 a.m.

Burns, 40, was arrested without incident, Aranda said.

He is charged in connection with a rape that occurred in the Ford City area on Oct. 24.

Burns was scheduled to be arraigned in Lamont Branch of Kern County Superior Court on Friday.

His bail was originally set at $50,000.
