Four divisions will be offered with games being played at the new Oil Field Wiffle Ball Field
Now that the new Oil Field wiffle ball field at the Rec is ready to open, the West Side Recreation and Park District is ready to start play with new wiffle ball leagues.
Games will be starting in May and run through the end of the month. A minimum of three players per team is recommended and a maximum of six per team.
Four leagues will be offered.
The pro division is open to anybody 16 years and older. This division has no extra rules on gender ratio on the field or pitching speed.
The triple A division is a coed division open to anybody 16 years and older. This division requires at a minimum of 50 percent females taking the field and the max pitching speed is 35 MPH.
The Double A division is open to anybody 50 years or older. This division has no extra rules on gender ration on the field and or pitching speed.
The final one is the Sandlot Division. The Sandlot Division is open to anybody between the ages of 10-15 years old. This division does not have a gender ratio on the field rule and the maximum pitching speed is 35 MPH.
Team fees are $150 with no refunds. A complete team roster must be turned in before the team’s first game. Individuals may sign up at a cost of $35 per person and teams will be formed out of individuals that sign up or players will be placed on teams that need people.
If an individual signs up and a team can’t be formed and if they are not placed on a team their money will be refunded.
Games will be played either Saturday or Sunday and will play two games on that day. The registration deadline is Thursday, April 24 with schedules being posted on Monday, April 28. Games will start May 3.
The Rec is also looking for team, league or field sponsors.
