Sessions will take place in May

Basketball players will get the chance to learn from a high level when the Bakersfield Jam hold a pair of Elite Spring basketball camps in May.

The camps will take place from May 3-4 and again from May 17-18 at the Dignity Health Event in Bakersfield and will be open to boys and girls between the ages of 6-18 years old.

Each camp will be broken down into three ages groups. The first through fifth grade groups will go from 9-11 a.m., while the sixth through eighth graders take part from noon-3 p.m.The ninth through twelfth graders will go from 4-7 p.m.

Jam assistant coach George Galanopoulos will be teaching the camp along with several other members of the coaching staff.

The cost of the camp is $75 for first through fifth graders while it will cost $100 for sixth through twelfth graders. The cost will include instruction, camp t-shirt, certificate of participation and player evaluation. No deposits are accepted and there is room for only 30 campers per camp.

The Bakersfield Jam is a member of the NBA’s D-League. They are an affiliate of the Los Angeles Clippers, the Atlanta Hawks, the Phoenix Suns, the Toronto Raptors and the Utah Jazz.
