Savannah will be in Taft on June 21
There's going to be a special guest at Paws in the Park on June 21.
Savannah, the bloodhound pup that will be joining the Kern County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team, is coming to the big event.
Savannah belongs to Aaron Lynam, a volunteer captain with the search and rescue team.
She made her public debut in early February, but won't be ing to work until she is 18 months old. She will specialize in tracking missing people and searching for human remains.
Paws in the Park is sponsored by Unity thrift Animal Rescue and the Taft Lions Club.
The upcoming event is the Fourth annual Paws in the Park, a fun event designed to highlight local pets plus the importance of spay and neuter and adoption.
There will be a dunk tank again this year as well as pet costume contests and more fun events.
Vendors are welcome.
Vendor applications are available at the Taft Chamber of Commerce and Taft Midway Driller offices.
