Corie Evans leads the charge by going 4-for-5

The weather finally matched the Taft varsity softball bats Tuesday afternoon after the Lady Wildcats roared to a 25-6 victory over the Shafter Generals on a hot day in Taft.

It didn't take long for the Lady Wildcat bats to get going when they scored five runs highlighted by Corie Evans' run scoring triple along with a pair of run scoring singles and a sacrifice fly.

The floodgates were opened in the second inning when Taft put up 15 runs while batting around the line up two times. In that time, Corie Evans led the charge with a pair of home runs and five runs batted in. Olivia Ortleib and Haylee Tracy had run scoring singles.

Shafter was not about to go away. With the players switched around, the Lady Generals scored six times in the top of the fourth inning while sending ten batters to the plate.
