Rt. Rev. David Rice will join in procession commemorating Christ's entry into Jerusalem
St. Andrew's Episcopal Church will be hosting the new Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin The Right Reverend David Rice and his wife Tracy on Sunday (Palm Sunday)
Bishop Rice will be leading the congregation in the observance of Christ's entry into Jerusalem.The worship in the courtyard of the Church at Fifth and Woodrow, with the Blessing of the Palms, then the congregation will follow "Jesus" (on horseback) in procession around the block, waving palm branches back to the Church for worship. There will also be celebrating a Baptism, several confirmations, and Holy Communion.
Bishop Rice was born in North Carolina, but moved to New Zealand to serve our Lord before his call to come to our Diocese. He and Tracy have two adult children in college in New Zealand.
Anyone who would like to join the congregation at St. Andrew's is invited to come and worship at any time.
