Taft defeats Shafter by twelve

It was a battle for sole possession of first place. When the dust had settled it was the Taft varsity baseball team that got the victory after blowing past the Shafter Generals 13-1 at home Tuesday afternoon.
With the victory, Taft is in first place in the South Sequoia League with a record of 5-1 while Shafter falls to 4-2.   Kyle Jameson had three runs batted in while Zack Brown had a double and two runs batted. Kyle Adkins, Dylan Botts, Joseph Sanchez and Will Moore each had a run batted in while Anthony Rodriguez had two runs batted in.   On the pitching side, Moore improved his record to 6-1 while throwing six innings allowing a hit and striking out eight.   Taft returns to action today when they host Golden Valley in a doubleheader. The first game begins at 3:30 p.m.
