Wildcats fall to Dinuba
At some point every streak must come to an end. It did for the Taft varsity baseball team Tuesday when they were edged out by Dinuba 1-0 on the second day of the Selma Tournament.
“We had plenty of base runners on but just couldn’t get a timely hit when we needed it,” said Taft coach Anthony Reed. “We had a guy in scoring position about five times.”
With the loss, Taft falls to 13-9 overall.
Cain Roberts pitched five innings allowing an earned run on three walks while striking out seven.
“Great pitching and defense for us though,” said Reed. “If we keep having games like that we will find a way to win more times than not.”
Taft wraps up the tournament today with a third place game against Kingsburg. The game begins at 4 p.m.
