Thursday's game starts at 4:30 p.m.

The No.3 seeded Taft varsity baseball team may have gotten over the first round hump, but the challenge is far from over for the Wildcats as they host No.6 seed Dos Palos in the quarterfinal round of the CIF-Central Section playoffs Thursday afternoon.

Taft will be taking on a Dos Palos team that finished 19-7 overall, 9-1 and a first place tie with Firebaugh in the West Sierra League.
Dos Palos got to the matchup with Taft by edging out No.11 seed Corcoran 8-7 in the first round Tuesday while the Wildcats shut out Mira Monte 12-0.

The winner of Thursday’s game will take on the winner of the No.2 Kerman- No.7 Liberty M/R game in the semi final round of the playoffs Tuesday.

Thursday’s game begins at 4:30 p.m.

In other league playoff action:

No.4 Bakersfield Christian defeated No.13 Bishop in Division IV. The Eagles will now play No.5 seed Golden Valley who defeated No.12 Wasco.

In Division V action, No.8 Shafter edged out No.9 Kern Valley 2-1. No.7 Cesar Chavez defeated No.10 Mendota 5-2.
