He is selected to fill seat vacated by resignation of Chuck Hagstrom
Ray Hatch was appointed to the West Side Health Care District Board Wednesday.
He was one of two candidates who had applied to fill the vacancy left on the board by the resignation of Chuck Hagstrom.
Jan Ashley was the other.
Hatch was interviewed by phone from Washington D.C. and Ashley attended the special meeting to be interviewed in person.
The four members of the board then met in closed session to select the appointee.
Hatch is currently a member of the Westside Health Care Foundation, a nonprofit group formed to help the district.
He is also a former Taft city councilman, mayor, West Kern Community College Board member and a retired oil company executive.
Hatch will have to run for election in the November general election.
