District Attorney won't file unless new information comes to light
The Taft man arrested for stabbing another man has been released from jail and no charges have been filed.
Taft Police Lt. Pete Aranda said the Kern County District Attorney's Office has declined to file charges and probably won't unless new information becomes available.
Matthew Gullo, 21, was released from Kern County jail earlier this week.
He was arrested Saturday night, a short time after a Taft man, identified as Christoper Soles, was dropped off at the Westside Urgent Care suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
Soles was transferred to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
Gullo was arrested a short time later.
He said he stabbed Soles, but told officers it was in self defense because Soles and another man attacked him the the alley behind the 500 block of Lucard Street.
Aranda said Soles has not cooperated with investigators and officers have not located the second man identified by Gullo.
