Warrant suspect fled into woman's house after argument. Deputies find him under blanket in bedroom
A man and woman were arrested in Maricopa Saturday following a brief standoff in the 300 block of Broadway when deputies went to question a man who was accused of brandishing a knife during an argument.
Deputies were sent to a report of an argument involving one suspect, identified as Dale Knight Jr., 29, in the 400 block of Mary Street.
Knight fled the area prior to the deputies' arrival.
Sgt. Marc Haiungs said the deputies learned there were four warrants for Knight's arrest and he was possibly at a residence located in the 300 block of Broadway.
When they went to that location, Haiungs said, they saw Knight in the front yard, but he ran inside the house when the deputies got out of their patrol cars.
Deputies knocked on the front door of the residence several times before it was eventually opened by a woman identified as Denise McMillan, 45.
McMillan refused to allow the deputies to enter to search for Knight and went back inside the residence.
Eventually she came back out and allowed deputies to enter and search.
The deputies found Knight hiding under a blanket in a bedroom, Haiungs said.
Knight was arrested and booked on a charge of obstructing officers and four warrants.
McMillan was charged with obstructing officers.
