June 6, 1935 - May 25, 2014

Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. for Taft resident, Wilma Faye Romane, 78.  Mrs. Romane was born  on June 6, 1935 in Corcoran.  She passed peacefully at home in Taft on May 25, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones.  Born to William Spencer and Roxie Jean Barcomb, however her daddy and the man that raised her was Charles Barcomb.  She grew up and attended school in Avenal.  She had lived in Coalinga, Fresno and Rock Springs, Wyoming,  Mrs. Romane moved to Taft in 1975 where she made her home.  She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, playing bingo and an occasional trip to Las Vegas.  She worked as a bookkeeper for the Taft nursing home, the West Side District Hospital as an ER admitting clerk and as a secretary for Kern Backhoe Service, from where she retired in 1995.  Mrs. Romane was preceded in death by her father, William Spencer, her daddy and mother, Charles and Jean Barcomb and her sister, Leta Jones. Her survivors include her children, Nona Berry of Fresno, Jerry Fennell and wife, Tammy of Green River, Wyoming, Regina Broce and husband, James of Riverton, Wyoming, Lisa Hanson and husband, Tim of Casper, Wyoming, Donna Rogers and spouse, Robert Hale of Taft, Leta Garton and spouse, Don Wilson of Taft, and Shawna Saich and husband, Carl of Klamath Falls, Oregon.  She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, with two more arriving in September and one great-great-grandchild.  Everyone who knew her loved her.  The family wishes to extend a huge “thank you” to Optimal Hospice, especially Kitty Shinn,  for their loving care in making this difficult time much easier.   Friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday from 3:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.  To convey condolences or sign an online register, please visit www.EricksonAndBrown.com.
