Good weather, a lot of entries and a huge crowd
The Taft Chamber of Commerce's Rails to Trails was a big success.
Coming off a lackluster show last year, organizers moved the event up a week and, with some great weather, drew a large group of entries and a huge crowd of spectators to the sixth annual event.
Hundreds of people walked up and down the rails to trails path looking at the hot rods, muscle cars, motorcycles, muscle cars and other entries.
Taft's entries did very well. Winfield May won first prize in the pre-1948 c antique class and took best in show to boot.
Paul Linder won the muscle car class,Dusty Wise was first in the 1948-73 truck/SUV class, Jerry Schuster was first in the Corvette class, and Brett Bailey won first in the rat rod division.
