Oliver Bernsen involved in production of short, family friendly production that will shoot in July
The Taft Chamber of Commerce will be the site of an open casting call Saturday for a short, family-friendly film to be shot in July in Taft.
The casting call will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Taft Chamber of Commerce offices, 400 Kern Street.
If you can't make the casting call, there's still an opportunity to get involved.
Just email a photo of yourself to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Producers are also looking for a white Ford F-250- pickup from the 1970, '80s or 90s to use in the film and a studio apartment to be used for a scene.
If you have a truck or apartment that might work, contact the chamber at 765-2165
The project is a short film entitled “Midland” and the story involves a young man in minor league baseball. Oliver Bernsen, son of Corbin Bernsen, is involved in the production for Home Theater Films, a project Corbin Bernsen started.
The elder Bernsen talked about doing more family-friendly projects like his film 25 Hill, partially shot in Taft, when he spoke at the Taft Chamber of Commerce Awards ceremony in February.
