Spay and neuter vouchers, petting zoo, costume contests and much more

Paws in the Park is back for its sixth year, and this event is going to be bigger and better than ever.

There will be free spay and neuter vouchers to help local residents get their pets fixed, a petting zoo, dog costume contests and much more.

Paws in the Park will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Veterans Park on East Kern Street.

The petting zoo is coming from the Midway 4H club.

Savannah, a new bloodhound pup that is being trained to join the Kern County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team, is scheduled to be here as well

There is going to be a dunk tank, with Sheriff's deputies serving as targets.

When you get hungry, the Lions Club will be barbecuing.

Paws in the Park is an annual event sponsored by Unity Thrift Animal Rescue, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to finding homes for unwanted dogs and cats, helping people spay and neuter their pets and animal rescue.
