Kiley and Ashley Nance each finish second in a race
Even though it is the dog days of summer and everyone is finding ways to relax, several members of the Taft Tigersharks came out of their mini break Tuesday afternoon to compete in a B meet in Tehachapi.
Malynn Stepp led the way for Taft by winning two races.
The first was in the 12-year old girls 50-yard freestyle where Stepp won the race in a time of 37.84. Tehachapi’s Avery Wendell was second in the race with a time of 38.16.
Stepp’s second victory came in the 50-yard backstroke where she had a time of 45.66. Stepp also had a third place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 51.58.
Kiley Nance was second in the nine year old girls 50-yard backstroke with a time of 54.88. Nance was third in the 50-yard freestyle and the 50-yard breaststroke with respective time of 46.97 and 1:12.87.
Ashley Nance was second in the 11-year old girls 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 51.02 while finishing seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 44.81.
Baylie Lyon was third in the 13-18 year old girls 50-yard backstroke with a time of 46.34. Lyon also finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 38.21 and fifth in the breaststroke with a time of 1:00.94.
Hannah Huckins had a pair of fourth place results. The first came in the 11-year old girls 50-yard freestyle where she had a time of 43.28. Huckins was also fourth in the 50-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 53.94. Huckins also finished seventh in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 59.41.
Taft returns to action Friday with a two day meet at Garces High School.
