Same teams will play decisive third game Sunday at 10 a.m.
The Taft Senior all-star baseball team had a roller coaser ride to begin their Section 7 tournament by splitting a pair of games against Visalia Friday and Saturday.
The teams were involved in a battle to open the tournament Friday when Taft got past Visalia 4-3 in eight innings.
Taft got the early start with a run in the first inning thanks to Jeremy Wilmer's run scoring base hit. Visalia answered with three an inning later before Taft tied the score in the third on Daniel Cortez's two run double.
The teams had to go into an extra inning before Taft brought across the game winning run,
Saturday morning's game was the opposite of Friday's after Visalia cruised to an 11-1 victory.
Visalia scored their runs in bunches with three in the first and third innings before putting up five in the fourth. Meanwhile, Taft scored their run in the fourth,
The teams will play each other one more time to decide the winner Sunday morning. The game begins at 10 a.m.
