Home on Adams Street destroyed. Occupants evacuated safely

 Fire destroyed a home in Ford City late Tuesday night.

Kern County firefighters received the report of a structure fire at 303 Adams Street at 10:20 p.m. and found the front part of the single family residence engulfed in flames when they arrived.

The house was occupied, but the residents fled the fire safely and there were no injuries.

The fire was also spreading through the attic

The fire was knocked down in 17 minutes, but it caused $70,000 damage, a KCFD spokesman said.

A save of $11,000 was listed.

The cause is under investigation.

Three engines and a ladder truck responded to the fire.
