Clayson Sorenson shoots the lowest round among the three with a 79

While most kids are enjoying their summer vacation, three Taft High golfers were working on their game Tuesday morning in a Kern County Junior Golf Association Tournament at Buena Vista Golf Club.

Out of the three, Clayson Sorenson had the lowest score by shooting a 79 in the boys 14-15 year olds age group. The score was good enough to place fourth among all of the golfers in his age group.

Tanner Leikam, who reached the Valley Championship for the Taft High golf team this past spring, followed by shooting an 81 in the boys 16-17 year olds age group.

Raegan Sorenson, who competed for the Taft High girls team last fall, rounded out the scoring for the Taft golfers by shooting a 93 in the girls 14-17 year olds age group.

According to the website, all three golfers will be competing in the next event next Tuesday at the Stockdale Country Club in Bakersfield.
